Prof Bierlaire will present the powerful methods of Discrete Choice Analysis that are used in forecasting human behaviour to predict, among others, the demand for a new product under alternative pricing strategies. From individual behaviors, such techniques are used to predict market segments and the impact of various scenarios. By presenting case studies for food industries and beyond, Prof Bierlaire will familiarize us with problems of data collection, model formulation, testing, and forecasting as well as the benefit such analyses can have for companies like Nestle.
